The AMD Ryzen and Ryzen Threadripper 3000 series and onwards CPUs are fully supported by vMix.

The AMD Ryzen 3950X, 5950X, 7950X and 9950X should not be considered a replacement for our Obtanium reference PC when working with a large number of baseband 4K (abover 4) or HD (above 8) inputs.
The Intel Xeon W-2500 processors have 4 memory channels and support for a large number of PCI express lanes (used by capture cards), while the AMD Ryzen _950X only has the same 2 channels and 16 PCI express slots as the other models in the Ryzen lineup.

 

For an equivalent AMD processor a 3000 or higher series Ryzen Threadripper or Threadripper Pro such as the 3960X or 9975WX would be needed.
